10 x 1000KW @ 50Hz, 1500rpm

About the project

Periodic power and water cuts have been a daily burden for Conakry’s residents. The Government was in desperate need for a stable power supply. Hence the Conakry Capital Diesel Power Plant project was constructed within a very limited time frame. The plant provided 30MW of total power (from 2 suppliers) connected to the weak national grid.

What we provided

  • 10 Cummins Engine and Stamford alternator. Genset assembled in United Kingdom.
  • Switch gear panels provided by Singapore.
  • On-site service and training.

The Challenge

  • To dispatch 10 units within a 2 weeks deadline from the UK.
  • To construct and commission the whole power plant in the remote area of Conakry within a very limited time frame.
  • Stabilize all diesel gensets in a synchronized parallel system.

Our Solutions

To provide 10 sets of 1000KW open genset, including control panels and switch gears within a very tight deadline. The total 10MW provided counted towards a 1/3 of the power needed by the power plant. All electrical and mechanical machinery must comply with extreme humidity and high temperature at the site.
