About the project

China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. and PT. Manggala Purnama Sakt formed a contract for the civil installation of the Sugar Factory project with the subsidiary company of the Indonesian Salim Group. Contracted amount of 84 million USD.

The project is located in Palembang City, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The project is to build a modern sugar factory with a daily processing capacity of 8,000 tons of sugar cane. This includes civil works, equipment installation, commission, training, and pre-operation.

What we provided

  • Customized total solution for blackstart, including calculations, design, and selective components and machinery.
  • 3 Mitsubishi Engine and Marathon alternator. Genset assembled by Kohler, Singapore.
  • On-site service and training.

The Challenge

  • Must be multi-functional for peak time power, blackstart, and back-up system.
  • To provide a stable multiple synchronized parallel genset system.

Our Solutions

To provide 3 sets of 1600KW modules including control panels and switch gears. The diesel genset systems must be highly durable from the high humidity and high temperature as it is installed outdoors. The diesel genset must supply the steam turbine additional required power during peak-time usage. It must also function as a blackstart system in case the steam turbine falls to power. Thirdly, the diesel genset must act as a fail-safe power system to the whole sugar refinery plant.
